Frequently Asked Questions

We are frequently being asked questions relating to arranging your wedding flowers, here are some of the commonly asked questions which may be of help to future brides.

Q: I do not live in your area, but would love you to arrange my flowers for me, Is this possible?

A: Yes, of course, we travel anywhere in Essex, Kent, Herts, Suffolk and London. We ask you to attend your initial consultation at our studio, but once you have commissioned us to design your wedding flowers, we can visit you at home to finalise your booking.

Q: I have a limited budget, are you able to help me?

A: Yes, we can make your day special, even with a limited budget, as long as you don't ask the impossible!

Q: Do I need to know anything about flowers?

A: No, not at all, we have been professional floral designers for many years, with the experience we have, we can help you design the perfect wedding flowers to suit the style of your wedding, So, no need to worry.

Q: Do you supply pins with the buttonholes?

A: Yes, we do.

Q: My wedding isn't for a couple of years yet, when should I consider booking a florist?

A: I personally get booked very quickly, I am already having enquiries for 2021. I would suggest that if you find a florist that you like, and makes you feel confident that they will provide you with excellent service, I would book your date as soon as you can.

Q:  I have been told to get quotes from at least three other florists,

would you advise this?

A: I would advise this if you are on a tight budget. but be warned - you do get what you pay for,  also check for hidden extras that may not be discussed at your initial consultation, ie do they charge for delivery and set up, are they using the best quality flowers of the highest grade.  Can you see photos of their work, have they decorated your venue before.  I would go with your gut instinct, and take a look at their shop, studio etc.  this normally indicates how professional they are.

Q: Is it possible to give me a quote by email or over the telephone?

A: I find trying to give a personal quotation without having a one to one meeting is extremely difficult.  Without knowing the style of the bouquet and table centres you would like, and the flowers you require, I would not be able to give you an accurate quotation.  All our designs are bespoke to each bride, so each quotation is personal to each bride. no two weddings are the same.

Q: I am getting married on St Valentines Day, I have visited a few florists who have refused to do my wedding flowers, would you be able to help me?

A: Yes, Unlike florist shops, I specialise in wedding and event flowers, and work from my studio.  I do not have the extra work load at the key times that florist shops have. ie  Christmas, Valentines Day, Mothers Day and Easter.  The only disadvantage you will have at these times is the cost of the flowers. You should expect to pay at least double, unlike the rest of the year. Also around the middle of May, flower prices go up as Europe and USA celebrate their mothers days, and the flowers are all sourced from the same suppliers around the world.

Q: What would you suggest to be a realistic budget for my wedding flowers?

A: Realistically if you are having venue decorations as well as bridal party flowers, I would suggest at least 10% - 15% of your overall wedding budget.  But of course, the amount that is spent on wedding flowers varies for each bride. It is better to be up front and honest with your florist about the amount you wish to spend on flowers, that way they will be able to suggest flowers that are in season. Don't be afraid to say if your quote is way above what you expected to spend, a good florist will be able to advise you on ways of cutting back and bringing your quote within budget.

I hope these have answered some of your questions you may have had, if not why not give me a call, and I will try and help you.
